Dating sites have been a new potential target for the hackers. A dating site called BeautifulPeople.com has been hacked, affecting more than 1.1 million people.

According to the reports, the site was hacked in November, with details such as people's income, addresses, private messages, email addresses, phone numbers, and sexual preferences were hacked.

Forbes reported that this information has been sold online.

BeautifulPeople.com is a online dating site that refers to itself as "an exclusively beautiful community, founded for the purpose of creating personal and professional relationships."

To gain access to the site, you need to get vote by other members within 48 hour, else  you're shown the door.

A security expert Troy Hunt from HaveIBeenPwned.com told Forbes that this hacked data has been sold online, but they don't know how and who got the hold on these data.

"We're looking at in excess of 100 individual data attributes per person," says Hunt; "Everything you'd expect from a site of this nature is in there."

However, the site has declined the reports of hacking of the website.

"There has been no new breach of our system," BeautifulPeople.com said, adding: "This vulnerability was widely reported in November of 2015 with 35,000 vulnerable MongoDB servers affecting businesses large and small."

"The data said to be accessible on the 'dark web' is the same data as the two security researches accessed and downloaded in the December 2015 breach."

"The breach involves data that was provided by members prior to mid July 2015. No more recent user data or any data relating to users who joined from mid July 2015 onward is affected."

"All impacted members are, of course, being notified once again. The data does not contain any credit card information and user passwords are encrypted."

"The privacy and security of our members is of paramount importance to us and this matter is being investigated."
